In closing, I could have received a much better deal it was about supporting local businesses. This was an eye opener. Take your business where it suits you the best, and saves you money. I did this out of shear support and wasted my time and energy, but I am happy that it happened this way because I don't want to support business who have little regard for me. I will miss some of the guys that work there they seem genuine and pleasant. I was standing there I let them know I come in here with no problems, not rude, we laugh we talk I never expected that the owner would behave in such a way. Seeing you want to speak but not listen then let the public listen. Support businesses that show respect to all, that appreciate your business and don't take you purchases for granted.
Called Sears Home store about a delivery that I was expecting first thing this morning as instruction of employee. I thought I had missed the call, however I was told the store had a delivery and had to unload . So I asked could we check to see the number on my delivery, the person told me, " Just give me the number" ( minutes later when i arrived at store the delivery list with names and phone numbers was right by the phone.) So then I shared with the same person that the stove is hard wired, but before I could finish the person replies, "We don't do that". So I said, 'I know but if you would allow me to finish and not cut me off" I was then cut off again. So now the person is speaking to someone and another person gets on the phone. So I ask who was that, the employee says the owner. I said forget the delivery I will be up there to get my money. Now from the time I made the call, at 10:33 am to the time it took me to go into the store 10:38 am. There were no cars in front of building no truck, and two people walking in. And a person at the register. So I stand and wait for the person that the owner put on the phone. While she is standing by asking me can she help me. I wait, I then tell the employee I am here to return the stove. I said nothing else. Then the owner says oh I am sorry you thought I was being rude, I had a bunch of people in the store. I look at her and share with her that she could have said that (she did not because that was not the case). She was rude, and when I identified it in the call when she cut me off, she became undone. Yet when I reply that she could have said that she tells me I am not going to sit here and listen to this. So you don't want to hear if you are busy you let the customer know and you can call them back. Wow. Let me say this I knew there was something in her voice and perhaps she is the owner she can cut customer service on or off. If its someone she knows or familiar with, or long time customers. But regardless to her issues, I realize that she seemed to have very little respect towards me, when I first called today. And in person she was arrogant and maybe has some issues with minorities, like she does not have to show respect, be professional, or give a care. I could have went to Lowes, Home Depot or online received free shipping, and in some cases no tax (yes they charge to deliver) and don't offer military discounts. I could have also went and got a price match. So here is why I did not. For the businesses I have patronized in the area for larger purchases the experience was fine. Then I hear business owners in the area complain that people are loosing money when we shop online, or when we don't buy in the community to keep the money here. Also there are some amazing people here and I have met some not so amazing like today. So I tried to be neutral. My purchase here was not about money, even though the owner was adamant that I was not getting my money today (as if that was my motivation for returning this purchase) that it would come in the mail. I shared with her it is not about money it is about customer service.
