My wife had small shrimp plate and I had the Saturday special, a bowl of gumbo and a pulled pork sandwich. Her shrimp were small and less than a dozen of them. The pork sandwich had a lot of meat but wasn't very flavorful. The "gumbo" was a big bowl but it was awful, like gumbo from a can. I remember this place being good 20 years ago, it will be another 20 before we come back.
Hickory Smoke House has some of the best food with Great lunch specials also.
First time I had been but I'm willing to try again next time I visit Deridder, may have had an off day.
Not clean or very nice to look at. And for being old and grungy it wasn't even cheap
The food was very bland, at least the pork roast and brisket was, not tender at all.
GREAT FOOD. THEY HAVE CATERED WORK PARTIES AND IT WAS SEEMLESS SERVICE. ALSO, GREAT FOOD!
